Chase + Whitney | Grace River Island Resort

When Chase & Whitney originally planned their wedding at Grace River Island Resort, they had no idea the kind of flexibility and patience they’d have to extend. Their original date was in September of 2022, but that is right when Hurricane Ian came through Florida. I am so impressed with all my Hurricane Ian brides and grooms. Their adaptability. The clarity that the big day is about a celebration, and will happen in the right timing. I spent 2023 inspired by these couples!

Chase and Whitney were no exception, as my last hurricane reschedules. They decided, in light of the events to have a small, intimate ceremony back home and then replanned their dream Florida wedding for December 2023.

They actually ended up having a freak storm on their NEW date, which made it a little wet, chaotic and windy: but these two ROLLED WITH IT.

We had the best time and everything turned out so beautifully!

Grace River Island Resort is such a beautiful venue too - they handled all the weather changes like pros and made the day as calm as possible for the bride and groom. 10/10 recommend!

We started the day off with the two lovebirds getting ready separately with their friends and family. You could tell there was so much joy after this anticipated day had been an extra year in the making! We took some first look pictures in the rain with classic clear plastic umbrellas (I loved the way these turned out!) and they said “I Do” under a gorgeous tent with stunning florals.

Their reception was nothing short of a party! Everyone went big to enjoy this day for Chase and Whitney! Whitney changed into a shorter reception dress, and it was so elegant and classy while still allowing her to dance. I love when my brides choose fun dresses for the end of the night! You deserve the big, beautiful gown you’ve always wanted AND the fun dancing with your friends.

I loved all the details at this wedding too. As a Florida wedding photographer, I love walking the reception and capturing all the tiny things I know you put so much thought into. From the wine glass wall, to custom cocktail toppers, to the VW bus- I know they put so much intention into making this a meaningful experience for their guests. And I loved capturing that!

And gotta give a shout out to the amazing team who made this day so special!
